HAC, just google a little:

"The 1986 FBI Miami shootout was a gun battle that occurred on April 11, 1986 in an unincorporated region of Dade County in south Florida (renamed Miami-Dade on November 13, 1997) between eight FBI agents and two serial bank robbers. During the firefight, FBI Special Agents Jerry L. Dove and Benjamin P. Grogan were killed, while five other agents were wounded. The two robbery suspects, William Russell Matix and Michael Lee Platt, were also killed.

The incident is infamous in FBI history and is well-studied in law enforcement circles. Despite outnumbering the suspects 4 to 1, the agents found themselves pinned down by rifle fire and unable to respond effectively. Although both Matix and Platt were hit multiple times during the shootout, Platt fought on and continued to injure and kill agents. This incident led to the introduction of more powerful handguns in the FBI and many police departments around the United States."

Two bank robbers facing an FBI force 4x their number and the bank robbers kill over half of them! +50% attrition, not very good odds.

Did FBI negligence and laziness lead to a hacker ring becoming embolden and committing worse crimes. Beginning almost three years ago, the Judiciary Report criticized the FBI for not arresting hacker, Josh Holly, who was plaguing a then 15-year-old Miley Cyrus.

He hacked her mobile phone, email accounts and social networking sites, then began disclosing private photos of the teen star that constituted child pornography. In all that, the FBI did nothing, which led to Holly and his coconspirators going after other celebrities and arrogantly targeting politicians in Washington, of all places.

Now the case has blown up in the FBI's face, as said hackers have not only released private photos of nude celebrities, illegally stolen from their mobile phones and email accounts, they may have jeopardized national security as well, in hacking Washington politicians. The Judiciary Report warned about that possibility a year ago.

The Judiciary Report also warned two months ago, that singers Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, should be careful regarding what they text to each other, as a hacker would love to compromise the security of their mobile phones and steal pictures (Justin Bieber Texts Girlfriend Photos). This week it was revealed, Gomez is one of the celebrities the FBI recently discovered, has been hacked by the aforementioned hacking ring.

FBI Admits It Missed Opportunities to Stop Tamerlan Tsarnaev
In a newly unclassified report, bureau agents describe a “huge” lapse that could have “changed everything” about the Boston marathon bombing

A government report released on Thursday sheds new light on the failures of federal law enforcement officials to recognize Tamerlan Tsarnaev as a potential source of terrorism in the years before the Boston Marathon bombing. The document—an unclassified summary report from the Inspectors General of the Central Intelligence Agency, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Homeland Security—calls particular attention to an FBI interview of Tsarnaev in 2011 and the failure of a Boston agent of the Joint Terrorism Task Force to follow up on an automated alert that Tamerlan was leaving the country for Dagestan.
