Learning About Jews First Hand #3
[Yeah, this correspondence may be a little off-beat, but it's always a wonder and a joy to see a budding young anti-Semite finally put it all together and figure out what's been bugging him or her all these years. I've added some comments. - HAC] Dear HAC:
I thought I'd write down something else about my sister's Masada 'thing'. Something I didn't mention during my email about my sister and her vision of us as sisters at Masada.
I also experienced visions and dreams of that. I googled, just now, to see a picture of the actual site. Harold, it's exactly as I've seen it in my mind's eye for all these years.
I was therefore so appalled by my sister's decision to go back and re-live that particular aspect of our past; re-claiming the Jew-ness, and therefore pro-claiming it as something desirable to do in the first place!? I didn't, don't, and never will understand that. (I also knew that she wanted me to join her, although the words were never spoken out loud.)
I've always been extra-sensitive to atmospheric variations; from people in particular. There are people, I've found, over my lifetime, that I simply cannot abide being in the presence of, for extended periods. The air becomes 'thick', and it eventually becomes physically difficult for me to breathe. I often end up with a headache, if I can't clear myself of the situation.
I'd always thought it was just individual people that were the problem. Something about them, their personalities, or something they'd done (i.e. drugs) was messing them up, energy-wise.
My first verification of my hypothesis that it was a people, not a person creating this disturbance came, when I went with my sister to Temple Beth-Whosit, in Portland, about 10 years ago. She invited me to accompany her to one of her Jew-classes at her synagogue (sin-agog? Hmm... one could have fun with that.)
The air inside the building was stifling. The stench was almost physical. It wasn't a literal scent (believe that or not) or problem with the air-conditioning. I simply can't describe the chaos emanating from each person in there; and since I was inside one of the actual places of 'War-Ship', the intensity was overwhelming.
Why did I stay there? I was there for my sister. She'd had a history of trying things and letting them go, after a while, and I wanted to see for myself what she was dealing with. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of those fly-by-night things.
Also, my theory of (what I now call) The Stench was being verified in that experience. It was my wake-up call. However painful it was to endure, I'll always be grateful for it.
By George, I think she's got it! Okay, first off: this is not a religious blog, the Northwest Migration is not a religious or occult movement, and this falls purely into my own personal rave bank, okay, we clear on that? I happen to know that reincarnation is for real, and I wrote a novel on the topic, but I'm not missionary about it and I don't insist anyone else share my opinions on the subject, got it? If you disagree, just put it down to another Haroldic eccentricity. We'll all find out soon enough, anyway. Now: just because you were (maybe) at Masada, McKenzie, doesn't mean you were a Jew once, or your sister was either. In fact, odds are against it. (Here's where being an obscure history buff comes in very handy.) Statistically, most of the people at Masada weren't Jews anyway. They were Romans, and I don't mean just legionaries or military. A Roman legionary army traveled with an entourage almost equal to its own size--porters, wagoners and muleteers, mechanics and engineers, sutlers and merchants and tavern keepers, bakers and butchers and cooks, laborers slave and otherwise, blacksmiths and farriers and horse grooms, armorers and swordsmiths, musicians, drovers, and of course all kinds of women--laundresses, army wives and girl friends, prostitutes, nurses, servants of various kinds, etc. The siege of Masada by Titus Vespasian lasted over two years and he built an entire Roman city, albeit a temporary one, around the mountain. His forces at any given time probably topped 100,000 if you include all the hangers on, services personnel, camp followers, etc. You could have been at Masada and been anyone and everyone from a Jew to a German to a Briton to a Sicilian to a Greek or a Syrian or whatever. Even if you were up on the mountain in the caves and whatnot with the Zealots, there is a good chance that you weren't Jewish. The Jews in Biblical times were extensive keepers of non-Jewish slaves, (in fact, that was the only kind they were allowed to keep, viz. Hagar in the Bible.) They continue this practice today in the form of the Palestinians, and even in those times, their Gentile slaves and associates in Palestine outumbered the "true Jews."
Secondly, I am going to tell you a story for what it's worth. I don't insist on this, it's just what someone told me.
One of the best psychics I ever knew was a Russian girl from New Jersey. (No, not the one you're thinking about.) She once described to me, down to my shoes, exactly what I was wearing while we were on a long distance phone call, her in New Jersey and me in Virginia.
Her big thing was she could see auras, or so she said, and analyze people from them. She told me that different races have different auras, and I don't remember much more of the details (this was about 30 years ago) but she did say that mixed-bloods, mulattos and mestizos, had a kind of fuzzy or confused aura, like static on a TV screen. She also said something else which I have never forgotten.
She vowed and swore that to her perception, anyway, Jews have no aura at all. They're dead, or at least not alive in the human sense, like trees and rocks and whatnot. Not even the same sense she would get off a dog or a cat. Purely chemical, biological life, devoid of innate essence. To be blunt, she said they had no human soul. I can't remember all the details, but I gather that her read on a Jew was kind of a flat-line thing; you see a flat line and hear a kind of dial tone, so there is power in the circuit, but nobody's home.
It has always been interesting to me in that Jews celebrate what is called the Yahrtzeit, the anniversary of the death of a loved one or a famous Jew, not his or her birth. At the risk of starting a religious riot, I suppose I should mention in all honesty that I have also long held a polytheistic view that this world is kind of a divine kid's science project, an ant farm or terrarium, and that as part of this project, several different "kids" are responsible for making different versions of the same basic organism and are now watching on what we do with our little sandbox, how each version or pattern of the human life form reacts with one another, so they can write their report for the teacher. Let's hope the divine parents don't get tired of us stinking up Junior's room and flush us down the cosmic toilet.
[I am transferring this thread to Thoughtcrime instead of Northwest Homeland since it's more Jewy and less Homelandish. The first part can be read on http://nwhomeland.blogspot.com - HAC] I'm right there with you, Pye.
My sister decided that a 'vision' that she'd had about she and I being at Masada together was enough to persuade her to go to synagogue, study all the Jew-isms, how to become Jew-esque, and all that... take the test and *Poof!* INSTA-JEW!
She married a Jew, moved to Portland, has been working at a law firm, where(hubby) works. She's subjecting my nephew, a brilliant, young pre-teen to everything she's allowed herself to be brainwashed into.
I figure my sister living in Portland is easier than in NY. She's Reform, also... so it's much more lax. She's not complained about the Jew-ness. She's thoroughly enjoying it. (Although she's had issues with her anti-depressant medication).
It's frustrating, to say the least, honey. Though not nearly as frustrating as your sitch with your sib.
by Dr. Adrian H. Krieg Last week my wife was a bit under the weather so she asked me to go shopping and gave me a list of what we required. Sticker shock would be a mild description of my experience in the supermarket. Naturally I am well aware of the meteoric rise in real estate, taxes and fuel prices, while the government still lies incessantly about a "1.5% inflation rate." Brother, if you believe government statistics I have this bridge in Brooklyn. . . A little retrospective might prove interesting. When I came to the U.S. in 1952 I was 12 years old and spoke barely one word of English. My father had liquidated all our assets in Switzerland and we immigrated here. While my mother spoke fluent English because she had been a governess in Manchester, England for two years, my father and I did not speak English. My father did speak 14 other languages, many better than indigenous populations, so in short order he learned English, as did I. By 1954 I worked part-time earning a big $10 per week for about ten hours work. In summer and during vacations I worked full-time, 45 hours in those days, and earned $40 a week. My father purchased a three-bedroom house in Larchmont, New York for $14,000. The same house without improvements sold in 1998 for $275,000; who even knows what it would sell for today? Later in `57 we moved to another house in the same town that my father purchased for $35,000. Taxes on that house rose from $980 in `57 to $14,000 by `89. My mother sold that house in 1989 for $350,000 and I have been told by realtors that houses of that type and in that location were selling for over one million dollars in 2005. By the time I got out of high school I had saved enough money to purchase a Chevrolet Corvette for what my father told me was an unconscionable price of $3,400. It was an 8-cylinder, which I modified to make it faster; fuel was 32 cents per gallon. I smoked an off-brand cigarette, which cost 14 cents per pack. After a short stint in college I was drafted into the Army and upon discharge in 1961 I started my own business. I lived on the Lower East Side in Manhattan for a couple of years. My rent for a cold water walk-up was $32 per month. Rent for the same apartment today is $1,800 per month but now they get hot water! About that time I purchased a Porsche for $3,200 – 365 type 4-cylinder with four Webber carburetors. Later I purchased a Ferrari California that had body damage and needed to be rebuilt. My friend did all the body work and I rebuilt the drive train. The car cost me $3,000 and I put another $5,000 in parts into it, plus about 200 hours of labor. I traded it to an Alfa Romeo dealer about three years later, even up, for a new Alfa Spider Super Liggera. I eventually gave that car to my wife. I am certain you can see where I am going with this. As we now all know the government lies like a proverbial rug when it comes to reporting statistics of the economy and matters relating to labor. In the last 18 years, while Alan Greenspan was at the helm of the Federal Reserve, the dollar was inflated by 71 percent, but if we go back to 1985 inflation is 81 percent. In perspective, what an American was able to purchase in 1950 for $1 now costs about $19. Now, that's inflation! As I purchased items in the supermarket, in every case I was astounded. Washing liquid $5.35, steak at $9.99 on sale for $7.99. I would not buy it and now know why we so rarely eat steak. The only people who did not even bother to look at the prices were those on welfare with food stamps and wick program tickets, who had been transported to the market in a taxi cab you and I paid for. Reality can sometimes be difficult to deal with, particularly when the government has been lying to you for years. We just received an increase of my wife's Blue Cross shield medical coverage; the monthly cost has been increased to $441. Her Social Security check is $530. She is 64 but we have to pay this outrageous amount until she turns 65 in December. The morons in D. C. expect her to live on $89 per month for the next ten months. In the meantime our Congressman, Katherine Harris, pays $300 per year for healthcare from A to Z for herself and any family member she might have to age 25. They gave us a Social Security increase in 2005; it was a hefty $24 for me, but they then deducted $12 for an increase in Medicare taxes. Then they changed the tax rate for income taxes on Social Security from taxing the first 50 percent to taxing the first 85 percent. In the meantime, the Congress critters have given themselves a $3,000 pay increase in 2002, `03, `04, and in `05 another $3,500. Put another way, their salary increases they voted themselves from `02 through `05 are more than I get in Social Security in a year, and I paid in for over 37 years, while they paid nothing. While our elected bums and the Federal Reserve are destroying our currency, our incomes are declining due to free trade, and mismanagement. America is rapidly turning into a two-class society, such as exists in South America, consisting of the plutocrat wealthy and the poor. The policies of the Democrats and Republicans that comprise The System are the engines behind it all. The fact of the matter is that we as a society are being taxed to death without any discernable benefit to anyone but the bureaucrats and politicians, who might best be characterized as parasites. One of the hidden taxes is the benefit government derives from inflation. As inflation rises so does income, but the taxable income earned functions on an accelerated tax basis. The more you make the higher your tax bracket. As a consequence you earn more and then move up to another tax bracket and pay more while lowering your spendable income. One comes to think, who benefits from this situation? There are a very limited number of beneficiaries of all this. First, the bureaucracies gain more employees and more money to waste. Politicians are able to increase their influence at the troughs of government largesse. The bankers are able to increase their bottom line as the currency is inflated. And lastly, the multinational corporations are able to increase their customer base while at the same time reducing their production costs by off-shoring their production. ***** Dr. Krieg's books are available from Northern Voice Bookstore www.northernvoicebookstore.com.
Dear Harold, The date for European civilization keeps on being pushed back. It used to be taught in schools that the oldest civilization on Earth was the Chinese at some 3000 years BC, supposedly predating European civilization by around 1,000 years! Read this!
'Tomb raider' leads authorities to ancient paintings
(Reuters) Italy has unveiled a new archaeological site that some experts say houses the oldest paintings in the history of Western civilisation.
Italy's culture minister took reporters to an unremarkable field outside Rome under which they were shown a room carved into the hillside, decorated with colourful frescoes which archaeologists said were 2,700 years old.
"It's a prince's tomb that is unique, and I would say is at the origins of Western art," said Minister Francesco Rutelli, standing on what, until two weeks ago when the site was found, was just a field of barley.
Authorities were led to the spot - in an area known for its remains from the Etruscan civilisation that thrived in Italy before the Roman Empire - by an 82-year-old Austrian tour guide who police were questioning for looting ancient artefacts.
Archaeologists were amazed at what they found once the earth was removed - a large, square room, with niches that would once have stored cremated remains, remnants of a bright red painted ceiling and coloured frescoes of birds and roaring lions.
"There are thousands of tombs here," said Francesca Boitani, a culture ministry archaeologist, pointing to the rolling hills north of Rome which were once home to the Etruscan city of Veia.
"But this one, it's the pictures that that are stunning. They give a sense of the primitive."
It is the primitive nature of the paintings that has convinced the experts that they are at least a generation older than any others yet found - dating from 700-680 BC.
Giovanni Colonna, a professor at Rome's Sapienza University, said although the frescoes were not as old as Egyptian art or some cave paintings, they had to be the oldest examples of the Western tradition of art that was then developed by the Greek and Roman civilisations.
Fragments of decorated pottery found in the tomb, and the clearly visible remnants of a wheel which once was part of a cart buried along with the bodies, indicate the burial site was that of a nobleman or prince.
In Etruscan art, the birds would have symbolised the passage between life and death and the lions represented the underworld.
While art historians salivate at the finding, it illustrated two serious problems for Italy - the constantly rising cost of excavating and managing ancient treasures and the fight against organised criminals who plunder the country's heritage.
Ironically, police were led to the "Roaring Lions" site by a tomb raiding suspect who hoped to receive lenient treatment.
[I recently asked an old comrade in San Antonio, Texas for an update on his situation. - HAC] Well...I guess the most accurate response is that I'm rocking along. Oh, I'm a few pounds heavier and a bit more bald than the last time you saw me. It seems to be the way of things. Income wise, I make a so-so living from [redacted]. I could probably make more if I had a better work ethic, but I find myself less inclined to run through the rat maze just to purchase more crap from China. I've spent the last couple of years devoting myself to the Peak Oil issue I mentioned above. The specific timing of events is impossible to predict, but matters could get very interesting from a NW perspective. The problem is, people will be arriving without a scouting trip, without resources, probably with bill collectors on their heels - and they'll be scared and angry. Hungry too. San Antonio continues to devolve. We've got more than our share of Katrina evacuees; it appears our city council made them all too welcome, since many of them are staying. The impact on crime is obvious. We now have a 27% illiteracy rate, per the mayor. (Not functional illiteracy - rather, the cannot read at all kind of illiteracy). Hispanic migration continues apace. In fact, Mexicann ationals are buying a great many houses in the $150,000 class since they fear a leftist government in Mexico. I think they're right to be concerned, and I suspect Mexico will become more leftist and more dangerous over time. Speaking of dangerous, they've had shootouts with grenades and automatic weapons in Laredo, 150 miles south of San Antonio. Gee, I wonder what happens when the big Cantarell oil field down there starts generating less revenue? (That's a sarcastic comment, obviously - we both know the answer.). Yes, I know. I live in a cess pool, and the water quality is getting worse. Family commitments keep me here. That said, life has not given me as rigorous a curriculum as you've endured. More to follow... 88! Claudius
The United Nations has reprimanded a security guard for drawing swastikas on a log sheet which was later seen by a guard from Israel, a U.N. spokesman said Tuesday. The guard who drew the swastikas was issued a letter of reprimand and was ordered to attend mandatory sensitivity training, so that his doodles henceforth will display the proper degree of multicultural and tolerant sensitivity. The traumatized Israeli was offered an unstated amount of money to soothe his horrible mental anguish at the brutal and monstrous scribble.
Let me ask you something. How many of us used to doodle Swastikas on our notebooks and any convenient piece of paper when we were kids? Even before we knew what it meant? I mean, let's face it, it's an obvious and neat design. Swastikas just plain look cool, which is one reason why they are among mankind's most ancient symbols. In ancient Aryan folklore the Swastika was the sun-wheel, it's spreading arms symbolizing life spreading out through the cosmos from a central source.
The United Nations in recent years has tried to live down a 1975 resolution that equated Zionism with racism, which was repealed in the 1990s, just before the second intifada broke out in which Israel placed an entire nation of people into one gigantic open-air prison camp in Gaza and the West Bank, after slaughtering tens of thousands of them and maiming God knows how many more, including a huge number of children. Great sense of timing the U. N. has, eh? But God forbid some Jew should accidentally see a doodled Swastika on some obscure piece of paper lying around a desk somewhere. That calls for mandatory sensitivity training, grovelling apologies, and handsome compensation to the offended hebe.
[Sigh...] Beam me up, Scotty. There's no intelligent life down here.
The ancient heroic age of Greece has come alive again in the ancient land where so much of Western civilization had its birth. Archaeologists have unearthed a massive tomb in the northern Greek town of Pella, capital of the ancient kingdom of Macedonia and birthplace of Alexander the Great.
The eight-chambered tomb dates to the classical Hellenic age between the fourth and second century B.C., and is the largest of its kind ever found. The 678-square-foot tomb hewn out of rock was discovered by a farmer plowing his field on the eastern edge of the ancient cemetery of Pella, some 370 miles north of Athens. It is not clear who the tomb was built for originally, but dozens of votive clay pots and idols, copper coins and jewelry have been found. These were scattered around the entrance to the tomb as if they had been dropped, and give evidence that the mausoleum was probably looted in the far past and the thieves lost some of their booty on their way out.
Although no skeletal remains have yet been found, these relics indicate that the tomb's occupant must have been a man or woman of great importance, someone along the line of Philip of Macedon or Alexander's mother Olympias. The complex is dominated by a central area surrounded by eight chambers colored in red, blue and gold dyes. Three inscribed stone slabs inside bear female names, Antigona, Kleoniki and Nikosrati. A relief on one of the slabs depicts a woman and her servant. However, it is still not clear whether or not these women were buried there.
The ancient Greeks of the Heroic Age and the Bronze Age, the time of Homer, were racially remote from the mixed-race and Levantine-ized nation inhabiting that part of the world today. They are often described in lyric poetry and depicted on wall murals, pottery shards, and bronze and marble statuary as tall blond men with blue and green eyes, the original settlers of the Pelopponesus around 1000 B.C. Alexander's empire, which stretched from Greece to Asia, broke into separate kingdoms upon his death in 323 B.C., as his generals battled over the remains of it, but many of them founded ruling dynasties in places as far away as Egypt. The famous Queen Cleopatra, for example, was not a dusky brunette or a negroid, but is described in contemporary Roman accounts as a blonde, and apparently she spoke Greek at her court and understood very little of the native Egyptian language of the people over whom she ruled.
Arthur Miller wrote, "Few of us can easily surrender our belief that society must somehow make sense. The thought that the state has lost its mind and is punishing so many innocent people is intolerable. And so the evidence has to be internally denied."
Miller's truth was a glimpsed reality on television on June 9 when Israeli warships fired on families picnicking on a Gaza beach, killing seven people, including three children and three generations. What that represents is a final solution, agreed by the United States and Israel, to the problem of the Palestinians. While the Israelis fire missiles at Palestinian picnickers and homes in Gaza and the West Bank, the two governments are to starve them. The victims will be mostly children.
This was approved on May 23 by the U.S. House of Representatives, which voted 361-37 to cut off aid to non-government organizations that run a lifeline to occupied Palestine. Israel is withholding Palestinian revenues and tax receipts amounting to $60 million a month. Such collective punishment, identified as a crime against humanity in the Geneva Conventions, evokes the Nazis' strangulation of the Warsaw ghetto and the American economic siege of Iraq in the 1990s. If the perpetrators have lost their minds, as Miller suggested, they appear to understand their barbarism and display their cynicism. "The idea is to put the Palestinians on a diet," joked Dov Weisglass, an adviser to the Israeli prime minister, Ehud Olmert.
This is the price Palestinians must pay for their democratic elections in January. The majority voted for the "wrong" party, Hamas, which the U.S. and Israel, with their inimitable penchant for pot-calling-the-kettle-black, describe as terrorist. However, terrorism is not the reason for starving the Palestinians, whose prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, had reaffirmed Hamas's commitment to recognize the Jewish state, proposing only that Israel obey international law and respect the borders of 1967. Israel has refused because, with its apartheid wall under construction, its intention is clear: to take over more and more of Palestine, encircling whole villages and eventually Jerusalem.
The reason Israel fears Hamas is that Hamas is unlikely to be a trusted collaborator in subjugating its own people on Israel's behalf. Indeed, the vote for Hamas was actually a vote for peace. Palestinians were fed up with the failures and corruption of the Arafat era. According to the former U.S. president Jimmy Carter, whose Carter Center verified the Hamas electoral victory, "public opinion polls show that 80 percent of Palestinians want a peace agreement with Israel."
How ironic this is, considering that the rise of Hamas was due in no small part to the secret support it received from Israel, which, with the U.S. and Britain, wanted Islamists to undermine secular Arabism and its "moderate" dreams of freedom. Hamas refused to play this Machiavellian game and in the face of Israeli assaults maintained a cease-fire for 18 months. The objective of the Israeli attack on the beach at Gaza was clearly to sabotage the cease-fire. This is a time-honored tactic.
Now, state terror in the form of a medieval siege is to be applied to the most vulnerable. For the Palestinians, a war against their children is hardly new. A 2004 field study published in the British Medical Journal reported that, in the previous four years, "Two-thirds of the 621 children … killed [by the Israelis] at checkpoints … on the way to school, in their homes, died from small arms fire, directed in over half the cases to the head, neck, and chest â€" the sniper's wound." A quarter of Palestinian infants under the age of five are acutely or chronically malnourished. The Israeli wall "will isolate 97 primary health clinics and 11 hospitals from the populations they serve."
The study described "a man in a now fenced-in village near Qalqilya [who] approached the gate with his seriously ill daughter in his arms and begged the soldiers on duty to let him pass so that he could take her to hospital. The soldiers refused."
Gaza, now sealed like an open prison and terrorized by the sonic boom of Israeli fighter aircraft, has a population of which almost half is under 15. Dr. Khalid Dahlan, a psychiatrist who heads a children's community health project, told me, "The statistic I personally find unbearable is that 99.4 percent of the children we studied suffer trauma … 99.2 percent had their homes bombarded; 97.5 percent were exposed to tear gas; 96.6 percent witnessed shooting; a third saw family members or neighbors injured or killed."
These children suffer unrelenting nightmares and "night terrors" and the dichotomy of having to cope with these conditions. On the one hand, they dream about becoming doctors and nurses "so they can help others"; on the other, this is then overtaken by an apocalyptic vision of themselves as the next generation of suicide bombers. They experience this invariably after attacks by the Israelis. For some boys, their heroes are no longer football players, but a confusion of Palestinian "martyrs" and even the enemy, "because Israeli soldiers are the strongest and have Apache gunships."
That these children are now to be punished further may be beyond human comprehension, but there is a logic. Over the years, the Palestinians have avoided falling into the abyss of an all-out civil war, knowing this is what the Israelis want. Destroying their elected government while attempting to build a parallel administration around the collusive Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, may well produce, as the Oxford academic Karma Nabulsi wrote, "a Hobbesian vision of an anarchic society … ruled by disparate militias, gangs, religious ideologues and broken into ethnic and religious tribalism, and co-opted collaborationists. Look to the Iraq of today: that is what [Ariel Sharon] had in store for us."
The struggle in Palestine is an American war, waged from America's most heavily armed foreign military base, Israel. In the West, we are conditioned not to think of the Israeli-Palestinian "conflict" in those terms, just as we are conditioned to think of the Israelis as victims, not illegal and brutal occupiers. This is not to underestimate the ruthless initiatives of the Israeli state, but without F-16s and Apaches and billions of American taxpayers' dollars, Israel would have made peace with the Palestinians long ago. Since the Second World War, the U.S. has given Israel some $140 billion, much of it as armaments. According to the Congressional Research Service, the same "aid" budget was to include $28 million "to help [Palestinian] children deal with the current conflict situation" and to provide "basic first aid." That has now been vetoed.
Karma Nabulsi's comparison with Iraq is apposite, for the same "policy" applies there. The capture of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was a wonderful media event: what the philosopher Hannah Arendt called "action as propaganda," and having little bearing on reality. The Americans and those who act as their bullhorn have their demon â€" even a video game of his house being blown up. The truth is that Zarqawi was largely their creation. His apparent killing serves an important propaganda purpose, distracting us in the west from the American goal of converting Iraq, like Palestine, into a powerless society of ethnic and religious tribalism. Death squads, formed and trained by veterans of the CIA's "counterinsurgency" in central America, are critical to this. The Special Police Commandos, a CIA creation led by former senior intelligence officers in Saddam Hussein's Ba'ath Party, are perhaps the most brutal. The Zarqawi killing and the myths about his importance also deflect from routine massacres by U.S. soldiers, such as the one at Haditha. Even the puppet Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki complains that murderous behavior of U.S. troops is "a daily occurrence." As I learned in Vietnam, a form of serial killing, then known officially as "body count," is the way the Americans fight their colonial wars. This is known as "pacification." The asymmetry of a pacified Iraq and a pacified Palestine is clear. As in Palestine, the war in Iraq is against civilians, mostly children. According to UNICEF, Iraq once had one of the highest indicators for the well-being of children. Today, a quarter of children between the ages of six months and five years suffer acute or chronic malnutrition, worse than during the years of sanctions. Poverty and disease have risen with each day of the occupation. In April, in British-occupied Basra, the European aid agency Saving Children from War reported: "The mortality of young children had increased by 30 percent compared with the Saddam Hussein era." They die because the hospitals have no ventilators and the water supply, which the British were meant to have fixed, is more polluted than ever. Children fall victim to unexploded U.S. and British cluster bombs. They play in areas contaminated by depleted uranium; by contrast, British army survey teams venture there only in full-body radiation suits, face masks, and gloves. Unlike the children they came to "liberate," British troops are given what the Ministry of Defense calls "full biological testing." Was Arthur Miller right? Do we "internally deny" all this, or do we listen to distant voices? On my last trip to Palestine, I was rewarded, on leaving Gaza, with a spectacle of Palestinian flags fluttering from inside the walled compounds. Children are responsible for this. No one tells them to do it. They make flagpoles out of sticks tied together, and one or two climb on to a wall and hold the flag between them, silently. They do it, believing they will tell the world.
Whatever tremendous pressure the White House applied to special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, it has apparently worked. Bush's evil eminence and puppetmeister Karl Rove has been officially informed that he won't be charged in the Valerie Plame leak scandal, so it looks like he's home free and Jug-Ears can still hear his master's voice whispering into his ear from the little black box under his jacket whenever he goes on stage. Rove can now devote his time to stopping Democrats from capturing the House or Senate in this November's elections, so they don't get subpoena power which they might use to embarrass the neo-cons.
It looks like the Valerie Plame scandal has now been "contained" and limited to Vice President Dick Cheney's Jewish former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who has been indicted on five counts of perjury and obstruction of justice. There is a remote chance that Libby, whose lawyers do seem to be actually putting up a fight for their client, might try to drag in Cheney himself--his attorneys have dropped some heavy hints in that direction. Apparently they're engaging in a subtle form of blackmail, "Ease up on Scooter or he'll bring the rest of you bastards down with him." But now that Rove is out of the crosshairs, Libby has a lot less leverage, and he may well be induced to fall on his sword and plead guilty "for the good of the country." Thus we will lose one more precious opportunity to find out just how we got into this endless war in Iraq, and just who the hell is running things in the White House.
Forbes Magazine reports that "Fitzgerald has been investigating whether senior administration officials intentionally leaked the identity of CIA undercover operative Valerie Plame in retribution because her husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, sharply criticized the administration's pursuit of war in Iraq...Rove, who most recently appeared before a grand jury in April, has admitted he spoke with columnist Robert Novak and Time magazine reporter Matt Cooper in the days before they published Plame's name in July 2003." Plame's identity was exposed eight days after her husband, former U.S. Ambassador Joseph Wilson, revealed that the U.S. government had manipulated prewar intelligence to exaggerate an Iraqi nuclear threat. In other words, the neo-cons responded to a critic by putting his wife in danger of her life and by compromising a member of their own intelligence services for politically partisan motives.
Neither Scooter Libby nor Karl Rove will ever see the inside of a jail cell of the kind reserved for poor white boys. That's too much to ask, and everyone knows it. But a public trial, which the administration seems to be going out of their way to head off and prevent, would at least partly rip the veil of secrecy off the men who have been running this country for the past six years and who have given George W. Bush the well-deserved reputation of being the worst president in American history.
In the best tradition or Orwellian thoughtcrime, it is now possible to be arrested and imprisoned in this country simply for uttering the word "nigger" out loud. A woman accused of using "racial epithets" while waiting for food at a Connecticut Taco Bell drive-through window was arrested on February 2nd.
Jennifer Farrelly, 19, of East Windsor, has been charged with "ridicule on account of race, creed or color" and second-degree breach of peace. Farrelly's boyfriend, Eric Satterlee, 22, of Ashford, was charged with breach of peace in the incident. I was unaware that "ridicule on account of race, creed or color" was an official criminal offense anywhere in the United States, but apparently in Connecticut it is. Looks like those busy little liberal bees in our state legislatures have been passing all kinds of wonderful legislation behind our backs while we've been distracted by 9/11, the Michael Jackson trial, and the sleazy saga of Brad and Jennifer and Angelina.
On December 18th of 2005, Jennifer Farrelly and Mr. Satterlee became frustrated by the slow service at the Taco Bell restaurant on Brookside Place, according to the arrest warrant. (Anyone who has ever had to wait on the retarded monkoids and Mexicans who work in such places will sympathize immensely with Ms. Farrelly's position.) Ms. Farrelly allegedly "banged on the drive-through window" and called the Taco Bell attendant, Jamelle Byrd, a racial epithet, according to the warrant. Satterlee allegedly cursed and banged on the window. Reading between the lines, people, I think we can all figure out what happened here. There comes a time when we have all just plain had enough negritude and White people who have been constantly victimized every day of their lives by these creatures arrogance, sloth, and stupidity just blow up. Byrd's supervisor told police that Byrd should not have been working the drive-through because he had gotten into a similar incident with another customer, the warrant states. In other words, this nigger had the usual chip on his shoulder and liked to make life difficult for his White customers.
What is even more disturbing is that the police did not arrest the young White couple until February 2nd, after a "full and intensive investigation." This 19 year-old girl was treated by the law like she is John Dillinger and given a full court press by the local cops, who apparently have nothing better to do by way of catching real criminals, for the crime of banging on a window and uttering a forbidden word. She is now facing two years in prison for these terrible offenses. I swear, you couldn't make this stuff up!
You know, we really need to stop tapping on these keyboards and start actually doing something about all this, because while we sit here in our own happy little state of oblivious cyber-nirvana, the kosher slaughter knives are being sharpened. How soon before we hear the knock on the door and find ourselves facing years in prison for the "crime" of banging on a window or uttering a forbidden word, indicative of a forbidden thought? Just because some bubble-lip won't hurry up and give us our nachos.
[This is the battle on which the movie "Zulu" was based.] In January 1879 the British invaded KwaZulu in South Africa, without the sanction of the home government, in a war brought about by the misguided policy of "confederating" southern Africa under the direction of the Governor-General Sir Henry Bartle Edward Frere. The fiercely indepedent AmaZulu people refused to lay down their arms and accept British rule. The British General Officer Commanding, Lord Chelmsford, despite having abundant military intelligence on the AmaZulu, had a misconceived idea of the fighting prowess of his enemy. The result was that on 22nd January a British force of seventeen hundred strong, was attacked and only some four hundred men, of whom only some eighty were Europeans, survived at a place called Isandhlwana.
Prince Dabulamanzi kaMpande commanded an impi, the Undi 'corps' of 4,500. His men had played little part in the action at Isandhlwana. Goaded on by his warriors who sought loot and glory, and despite the orders of his brother, King Cetshwayo kaMpande, not to cross the Buffalo River into Natal, he chose to attack the British supply base close to a river crossing known as Rorke's Drift, which the AmaZulu called KwaJimu. Looking up towards the hospital building, with some of the original ledge still visible. The post was established in a trading store-cum-mission station that consisted of a dwelling house and a chapel, both sturdily built of stone. The house was doing temporary duty as a field hospital, the chapel was full of stores and there were only 104 men who were fit enough to fight. The command of the post had passed to Lieutenant Chard of the Royal Engineers, when Major Henry Spalding of the 104th Regiment left on the morning of the 22nd January. Commanding a company-strength detachment was Lieutenant Bromhead of the 24th Regiment.
James Langley Dalton, a volunteer serving as an Acting Assistant Commissary and a former Staff Sergeant, ordered the construction of barricades connecting the two buildings with sacks of corn, and an inner barricade with biscuit boxes. When the Zulus attacked, wielding their short stabbing assegais, they were unable to reach the men behind the barricades and they were blasted by rifle fire at point blank range. Most of those who did mount the breastwork were repulsed by the bayonets of the defenders. Some of the Zulus were armed with rifles, purchased from unscrupulous traders or captured at Isandhlwana, but they were not trained marksmen and the British soldiers were able to pick them off at long range. After a number of unsuccessful attacks the Zulus set fire to the hospital, burst in and began to spear the patients. A private named Alfred Henry Hook, a Gloucestershire man, kept them at bay with his bayonet while his friend John Williams hacked holes in the wall separating one room from another and dragged the patients through one by one, the last man had dislocated his knee. Williams had to break the other to get him out of a window and into the yard where the barricades offered some protection.
Fighting went on all night in the fitful glare from the blazing hospital as the Zulus made charge after charge on the barricades. Both sides fought with desperate courage. A patient from the hospital, a Swiss born adventurer Christian Ferdnand Schiess, stabbed three Zulus in quick succession after he had clambered over the breastwork. In the yard Surgeon James Henry Reynolds tended to the wounded, oblivious to the life and death struggle going on all around him. Those too badly hurt to shoot propped themselves up as best they could and reloaded the guns, and re-supplied ammunition to those who were still on their feet. When dawn came at last, the Zulus drew off taking their wounded with them and leaving at least 351 dead around the barricades. Later Lord Chelmsford arrived on the scene with a column of British soldiers.
Lieutenants Chard and Bromhead were both awarded the Victoria Cross, as were the redoubtable privates Alfred Hook, Frederick Hitch, Robert Jones, William Jones, Corporal Allen, James Langley Dalton and Pte. John Williams. Surgeon Reynolds got the Cross for tending the wounded under fire; and the Swiss volunteer Christian Schiess - the first to a soldier serving with South Africa forces.
To this day, the defence of Rorke's Drift holds the record in the British Army for the highest number of VCs awarded for a single engagement.
Defence Silenced at Bahr Hearing http://www.canadianfreespeech.com From: email@example.com EDMONTON. June 1, 2006. The inquiry by a Canadian Human Rights Tribunal headed by radical Alberta lesbian lawyer Julie Lloyd concluded here today, after repeated rulings from Lloyd shut off almost all lines of defence questioning and prevented Paul Fromm, Glenn Bahr's representative from questioning expert witness Bernard Klatt about Mr. Bahr's defence that his e-mail and computer had been hacked and phoney messages sent out in his name. Glenn Bahr had been charged under Sec. 13.1 of the Canadian Human Rights Act for posting material on U.S. website Stormfront and on Western Canada for Us that was critical of Jews, blacks, Indians and homosexuals. Sec. 13.1 makes repeated communications over the Internet "likely to expose" privileged minority groups to "hatred or contempt" a discriminatory practice. On Wednesday, Mr. Fromm was prevented from tendering a rebuttal witness - a woman who had lived with Glenn Bahr and who would testify that Sgt. Stephen Camp of the Edmonton "hate squad" had threatened to and did in her presence call child protection services "with a view to removing her 7-year old child" as she might be in a "poisoned environment" because of Mr. Bahr's immigration reform and free speech views posted on the Internet allegedly in the apartment where she lived. She would have testified that this threat was made to her and Mr. Bahr before - in a desperate effort to save her child from being taken - he agreed to admit that the Western Canada for Us website was his work alone. He also agreed to take down the website, disband Western Canada for us and leave Edmonton.
The defence had earlier played a CBC television story from May 7, 2004, just after the raid on Mr. Bahr's residence. The tape showed Sgt. Camp saying that peple like Mr. Bahr should "be oppressed and jailed." He denied telling Mr. Bahr that there was no place for people like him in Edmonton and that he should leave town. Mr. Fromm denounced Sgt. Camp and a bully for threatening Mr. Bahr's girlfriend with the second worst nightmare of a parent - the loss of their child. Key to the defence was the contention that, in February, 2004, Mr. Bahr's computer and those of other members of WCFU were hacked. Phoney and insulting messages were flying back and forth from people adopting the identities of WCFU members. So concerned was Mr. Bahr that he complained to the RCMP in Red Deer on March 19. An inflammatory posting using Mr. Bahr's moniker had been made, March 10, calling for the euthanizing of homosexuals as they were freaks of nature. Mr. Fromm presented the transcript of Mr. Bahr's extensive complaint to the RCMP about this hacking and about a lie-filled poster plastered all over Red Deer, giving his name, address and a series of false accusations about him. The poster eventually had him thrown out of his residence and led to the loss of his job. The poster was circulated by the anarchist Anti-Racist Action (Calgary), led by an Indian, Jason Devine, who ran for the Communist Party of Canada in the January, 2006 election. Complainant Richard Warman's self-appointed task is "weeding" out the Internet of "neo-Nazis" and "White supremacists." Mr. Fromm was not allowed to question his motives or his links with the ARA. Sgt. Camp had testified that he had called Mr. Warman for a copy of the ARA poster plastered up in Red Deer. Warman lives in Ottawa. Mr. Fromm asked why the officer wouldn't simply call the RCMP in Red Deer. He received no real answer. Is Warman a Jew or not? Mr. Fromm wanted to ask but was not allowed to. The Alberta Human Rights Commisssion in a report so identifies him, as did a draft complaint in the Warman v. Kulbashian case. He seemed to deny it in that case saying he was "not of the Jewish faith." Odd phraseology. The poster was circulated by the anarchist Anti-Racist Action (Calgary), led by an Indian Jason Devine who ran for the Communist Party of Canada in the January, 2006 election. A homosexual newspaper praising Warman said he was not gay. He's certainly not a native Indian nor does he appear to be physically crippled. In his summation Mr. Fromm asked: "What's it to you? Glenn Bahr's writings in no way expose your group to anything. The groups in question (Jews, homosexuals, Aboriginals, and Blacks) did not launch this complaint nor even attend the hearings." Warman is using the Human Rights Commission to further a political agenda of censorship pure and simple.Like Wiesenthal, who certainly got plenty of Establishment support and protection, Warman is the human rights industry's fair-haired boy, Mr. Fromm contends. He's a one-man complaints machine and certainly helps keep the Canadian Human Rights Commission and Tribunal boys and girls in business and hauling home their fat taxpayer-funded cheques. Mr. Fromm was repeatedly thwarted from asking any meaningful questions of Warman by the Member (chairman of the Tribunal), activist Julie Lloyd. He couldn't even ask Warman who his employer is or how he is able to get weeks off at a time to appear, at taxpayers' expense, as a witness in these complaints. Fromm couldn't even ask whether he'd written a long Canada round up for the current Audit of Anti-Semitic Incidents for the League for Human Rights of B'nai Brith. His name is on this report and he mentions Glenn Bahr at length. [Check it out on the Net.] But that's the protection the industry gives to one of their own in the Soviet-style Human Rights Tribunal kangaroo courts of Canada. If you think that's overstating the case, consider this: in 28 years no victim has ever been acquitted of a 13.1 charge -- hate on the Internet or on telephone answering machines. No one! Also, all the victims have been on the right of the political spectrum. It's Soviet style political censorship. Have you ever seen John Cleese's hilarious industrial film Meetings, Bloody Meetings. To illustrate how to conduct a meeting properly, Cleese does a number of rib-tickling skits. In one, he's a judge. He's trying to teach people to have a logical agenda. He asks, "What if I ran my court this way? First, we have the verdict, then we have a little evidence and then we'll have the sentence." Some observers thought Fromm hadstepped into a John Cleese skit. The lawyers actually had to do their main summation before all the defence evidence and Glenn Bahr's expert witness was heard. Lloyd was in such a hurry to end the hearings and shut the defence down.
Expert witness computer expert Bernard Klatt of Oliver, B.C. testified about techniques used to hacking e-mail and websites but he was not allowed to say anything about Mr. Bahr's evidence of being hacked nor was he allowed to identify any documents.
In his final summation, Mr. Fromm warned the Tribunal: "You can't stop the Internet. You can shut down Glenn Bahr, but you can't stop the message. The message you're sending to young Canadians who acted as good citizens - they took an interest in public affairs, they informed themselves, they organized a group and leafleted and held public meetings, is that our politically correct Establishment is saying: 'You shut up!' Is that healthy for a democracy?" he asked.
Both complainant Warman the hate squad head Sgt. Camp made much of the fact that the novel The Turner Diaries could be downloaded from the Western Canada for Us website. [also available from U of Alberta library ] Fromm explained that, in most of the world, governments are changed through violence - coups d'etat or revolutions. Northern Europe developed democracy, where governments are changed at the polls non-violently.
"However, democracy requires freedom of speech, freedom to discuss and debate the issues of the day," Fromm explained. "The victim here, Glenn Bahr is a man of the Word. He wrote his ideas. He put them and those of others on a website. He circulated flyers. However, there are also men of the Sword. If you shut down the Men of the Word, you will surely get the hard Men of the Sword. You may then get the scenario of violence in The Turner Dairies which you so fear. Shut down the Word and you'll get the Sword," he concluded to an ovation of the loyal supporters in the stuffy Tribunal room."
[Okay, one final call for comments and suggestions, and I will then produce a "semi-final interim draft." We'll put it to bed for a couple of months to allow me to concentrate on some other stuff such as the Book 4 excerpts and the DVD. My own comments will be in red. - HAC]
NORTHWEST AMERICAN REPUBLIC CONSTITUTION
DRAFT OUTLINE (June 2006)
In the name of the Divine Creator of all things we, the Aryan peoples of the earth, do hereby set forth this Constitution of the Northwest American Republic, in order that we may secure the existence of our people and a future for White children.
Section One - Nationhood and Citizenship
Article I. - The Northwest American Republic shall be a Homeland solely for the use and habitation of White people of all nationalities, cultures and creeds worldwide, in order that Western civilization may be preserved and White children may be raised to responsible adulthood in safety, prosperity and tranquility. This is the overriding principle of this Constitution. Nothing incompatible with this prime directive is or may be held by any authority to be constitutional.
Article II. - All White people may emigrate to and live permanently in the Northwest American Republic as legal residents.
Article III. Citizenship in the Republic, as opposed to residence, to include exercise of the franchise and participation in government and the political process, shall not be automatically conferred at birth, or through racial identity alone. Citizenship is to be earned through responsibility fulfilled.
Article IV. - Residence and citizenship in the Northwest Republic shall be restricted, absolutely and for all time, to those persons of unmixed Caucasian racial descent from any one of the historic family of European nations, who shall have no known or identifiable non-White ancestry, and no visibly non-White element in their genetic makeup.
Article V. - The race commonly known as Jews are in culture and historic tradition an Asiatic people, and shall not be considered White or accorded White racial status under law.
Article VI. - Citizenship in the Republic and the right to exercise the electoral franchise shall be divided into three classes, with each class of citizenship holding one, two, and three votes respectively. Those who demonstrate the most civic and political responsibility and the greatest dedication to state service, and who thereby achieve a higher class of citizenship, shall have the greatest say in the political process.
Article VII. - Citizenship in the Northwest American Republic may be legally reduced or revoked by a court of law, by the Bureau of Race and Resettlement, by act of the National Convention, or by decree of the State President, which bodies and authorities may also grant or restore citizenship. Grounds for revocation or reduction of citizenship shall be
1) Conviction of a felony.
2) Medically certified mental defect or insanity.
3) Proven non-White racial descent to include Jewish ancestry.
4) Willful miscegenation with persons of non-White race.
5) Factual proof of the commission of acts of homosexuality.
Article VIII. - Standards of race and citizenship shall be established by a Bureau of Race and Resettlement, which shall set all racial parameters and codes, establish scientific and cultural standards of racial identity, and which shall make determination in individual cases where applicable.
Article IX. - Whereas the basis of all human civilization has been, and shall remain, the traditional nuclear family based on the institution of marriage, with the wife and mother as the heart and the gainfully employed father as the head, the Northwest American Republic herewith acknowledges this traditional family unit and the values historically attached to it as the foundation of the state, and declares that the protection of the family shall be and shall remain a primary goal and supporting pillar of the Republic, its laws and institutions.
Section Two - Government and Administration
Article I. - The Northwest American Republic shall be a unitary or single-party state, with [the Fighting Revolutionary Party to come] to serve as the official party of government.
Article II. - The government of the Republic shall consist of two branches, executive and legislative.
1) All state and local governments, offices and agencies thereof which existed under the previous rule of the United States of America are herewith abolished.
2) Counties and cities within the Northwest American Republic shall create such local governments within the parameters of this Constitution as appear to be necessary for the maintenance of health, order, and prosperity, but all ordnances, laws, and functions of said local governments shall be subordinate to the central government and laws of the Republic, and the authority of the National Convention and the State President.
Article III. - This Constitution shall be enforced and interpreted by a standing Constitutional Committee of the National Convention, to whom constitutional issues may be referred for determination by the Convention as a whole, by the executive branch, by state agencies, and by the courts.
Article IV. - The basis of the body politic of the Northwest American Republic shall be the roster of all persons holding citizenship in the Republic, which citizenship roll shall function as the lowest level of government and the foundation of the state. The citizenship roll shall function in this capacity through general elections to the National Convention, and also through national referendum.
Article V. - National referendums shall take place as needed in conjunction with general elections to the National Convention.
1) National referendums on specific issues of immediate urgency or interest may be called by the Convention as needed through special resolution, with such referendums to take place within not less than thirty (30) days and not more than sixty (60) days from the adoption of said resolution.
2) No national referendum or any other act of government may alter or amend this Constitution, in whole or in part.
[Arguably the biggest cause of the present collapsed and decayed state of the United States is the fact that later generations of jurists, legislators, and intelligentsia, having come morally and spiritually corrupt, have tinkered and monkeyed with the U. S. Constitution in order to effect what amounts to left-liberal social engineering, in direct defiance of the clear intent of the document and in a manner which would have stunned and horrified and enraged beyond measure the original drafters of the Constitution. This has to be prevented. We cannot assume that our descendants will understand WHY we have done what we have done, will have the same perceptions that we have, or will not in their turn become corrupted by Judaic materialism and other moral contamination. The Northwest Constitution must stand forever inviolate as a bulwark and guardian of our race.]
Article VI. - The historic role of [the Fighting Revolutionary Party to come] in implementing the Revolution and securing the independence of the Republic is officially acknowledged. The primacy of the Party in governing the Republic is formally acknowledged and enshrined in this Constitution.
Article VII. - The chief executive of the Northwest American Republic shall be the State President, who shall be a first-class citizen and Party member not less than thirty-five years of age and a military veteran.
Article VIII. - The State President shall serve as head of the executive branch of government, as commander in chief of the armed forces and the Civil Guard [national police force] and commander of the Bureau of State Security.
Article IX. The State President shall have the right to appoint a Council of Ministers of his own choosing, and to create or dissolve ministerial portfolios as he deems necessary, with the following exceptions: he may not dissolve or allow to fall into abeyance the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Finance, or Race and Resettlement.
1) The State President shall have the authority to assume one (1) ministerial portfolio himself for all or part of his term.
2) The State President shall serve as chief magistrate of the Republic and shall exercise full and final recourse over all actions and decisions of the judicial system and the National Honor Court, specifically including the power of full or partial pardon and/or commutation of any sentence of death, confinement, corporal punishment, loss of citizenship, amercement, or exile, with the following exception: the State President may not overrule any jury or other court verdict of not guilty, not proven, or other acquittal in any criminal case.
Article X. - The State President shall be elected by direct popular vote of all citizens, through a primary election wherein all candidates for the office shall fulfill the basic requirements of eligibility, and who will furthermore be members of the National Convention.
[Granted, this provision is open to debate, but in my opinion, we need to safeguard against some demagogue or other loose cannon coming out of left field with a lot of money and charisma and buying or coercing or otherwise manipulating a presidential election. We also need to guard against potential lapses of judgement on the part of the voters of the kind that have created presidents such as Bill Clinton or George W. Bush. There is nothing wrong with restricting the presidency to "insiders" with a view to making sure that we have competent chief executives who have paid their dues, made their way up the ladder, and know what the hell they're doing.]
Article XI. - Subsequent to the primary election, should any candidate fail to gain more than 50% of the vote, a run-off or general election between the two front runners shall take place. The candidate receiving the most votes shall become President, while the runner-up shall become Vice President.
Article XII. - The State President shall serve a single term of six years in office, and may not be re-elected to the office of President for two consecutive terms.
1) In the event of his death, illness, or other incapacity the State President shall be succeeded by the Vice President. In the event of the death or incapacitation of both the State President and the Vice President, executive power shall be assumed by the Speaker of the National Convention for a period of no longer than thirty (30) days until the properly constituted ruling authority of [the fighting Revolutionary Party to come] shall appoint a caretaker President who shall hold office for a maximum of one (1) year until a special presidential election can be held.
2) The State President may be impeached and removed from office on foot of a national referendum. Any national referendum on the impeachment and removal of a State President may be passed by the National Convention without the signature of the sitting State President, nor shall he have any veto thereon.
[It is clear from the Clinton and Bush experiences that the provisions in the U. S. Constitution for removing an undesirable criminal and/or incompetent from the presidency are inadequate. Under the unitary system, if any impeachment referendum bill passed the Convention it would mean a substantial number of Government deputies voting with the Opposition, and would be a clear indication that said president has REALLY screwed up.]
Article XIII. - The legislative branch of government shall consist of the National Convention, which shall be elected by popular vote of all citizens every two years. The National Convention shall be presided over by a Speaker who shall be elected in caucus by the Government members of each incoming convention, and who shall serve at the pleasure of the Government parliamentary party.
Article XIV. The National Convention be unicameral.
Article XV. - The National Convention shall consist of four elements: Government, Opposition, and members from the armed forces and Civil Guard, and non-voting Ministers of State.
1) Civilian deputies of the National Convention shall be elected by popular vote of the citizenship roll on the basis of two Government members and one Opposition member per county.
2) One (1) serving officer and one (1) senior non-commissioned officer from each branch of the military shall be appointed as deputies to the National Convention by a duly constituted body of senior officers of their service. Further, two (2) senior members of the Civil Guard shall be appointed as a deputies.
[Realistically this will mean Army, Navy, Air Force, and Guards will each have two deputies for a total of eight armed forces reps. Possibly SS might have another two, if it is considered a separate branch of the military, and who knows? Maybe some day something exotic like the Northwest Space Patrol. I view BOSS (Bureau of State Security) not as an armed service but as a special body reporting to a top-secret governing authority comprised of the State President and the commanders of every branch of the military, plus members of the Party's policy-making Political Bureau.]
3) Ministers of State appointed by the State President shall have the right to attend all sessions and participate in the debate and work of the National Convention, but shall have no vote on legislation or resolutions.
Article XVI. - The National Convention shall remain in constant session during the two years of its term and may recess only twice per year, for a cumulative period of not more than sixty (60) days per year.
1) Neither the State President nor any other body may prorogue, dismiss, or dissolve the National Convention, except for the Speaker of the Convention immediately prior to and as part of a nationwide general election.
2) No deputy or other functionary of the National Convention may receive or accept any salary, commission, fees, royalties, or other income, benefits, perks, or any other thing of value from any source other than such salary, emolument, or benefits which shall be decreed to such deputies and functionaries by a national referendum and thus enacted into law.
3) All deputies and functionaries of the National Convention and all Ministers of State, specifically including the State President and Vice President, must file an annual full and complete financial disclosure statement with the office of the Speaker detailing their current financial status, all property held, etc. which disclosure statements shall be matters of public record and available for inspection to any citizen or resident of the Republic.
4) The State President may in time of national emergency or legislative recess rule by special executive order solely in order to preserve life, property, and the existence of the Republic. All such special executive orders are non-renewable and must be confirmed or rejected within sixty (60) days by the National Convention in full session.
5) The Convention shall function not only as a legislative body, but as a reserve of administrative manpower for the government and as an arm of the civil service. The Convention as a body and the State President shall assign to deputies of the Convention such additional governmental, legal, and social duties within the administration of government as they shall think fit in order to gain optimal benefit for society as a whole.
[This per David Tate, who pointed out that we don't want these guys sitting around with nothing to do except make more and more laws. We don't want them falling into the common middle management error of thinking they must be constantly changing things in order to justify their existence. They need to be in session so they can ride herd on the government (especially Opposition members) but the deputies of the Convention all need to have an assortment of other necessary work to do, lest the devil should make work for idle hands.]
Article XVII. - The Government parliamentary party and the Speaker of the Convention shall set aside a regular day of full session no less often than once per calendar month, for public questioning of Government members and all ministers of state, including the State President, by Opposition members on specific policies and issues facing the nation.
1) Said Ministers of State shall make themselves available and render public responses to such questions, except on such infrequent occasions when genuinely sensitive matters of national security are involved, in which case the State President or government minister concerned shall have the right to respond to such questioning to a select committee in closed session, under all applicable laws and regulations of official and military secrecy.
2) Opposition members and the Speaker of the Convention may require the presence of any government minister, military officer, or other functionary or person to respond to such questioning.
Article XVIII. - All members of the National Convention shall enjoy full parliamentary privilege and immunity from any arrest, prosecution, or investigation in connection with their official duties as members of the Convention or in connection with any written or oral communication, public or private, in connection with their official duties as legislators or members of government.
1) The Speaker shall as necessary convene a special investigatory committee of deputies, including both Government and Opposition members, which shall act as a tribunal to resolve questions of immunity, ethics, and specific allegations of unethical or criminal conduct against deputies.
2) No deputy to the National Convention may be stripped of his parliamentary immunity or expelled from the Convention except on the recommendation of the investigatory committee aforesaid, which recommendation must be confirmed by a vote of the Convention in full session.
Article XIX. - Laws of the Northwest American Republic shall be enacted upon introduction of a bill by any deputies or group of deputies, or by the State President, into the National Convention.
1) Such bills shall become law by majority vote of the Convention only after two (2) readings separated by a time period of not less than seven (7) and not more than thirty (30) days, and only after two (2) public debates by the Convention on each individual bill. Such bills must then be presented to the State President for signature with seven (7) days.
2) The State President may veto all or part of any bill presented to him by the National Convention for signature.
[Line item veto is a major anti-corruption measure and would have saved so much of the present system's bacon!]
3) A presidential veto of all or part of any bill may be overridden and shall become law on a majority vote of the National Convention in full session.
Article XX. - The National Convention shall have the sole power to levy all excise and customs duties, taxes, and other imposts, including any and all fees charged by government for any goods or services whatsoever, all of which shall be paid directly into the State Treasury and shall be apportioned according a budget laid out by the Finance Minister and approved by the National Convention as a whole.
[No taxation without representation. Basic.]
Article XXI. - The Finance Ministry shall have operational authority over all coinage and issuance of money or other legal tender within the Republic, but ultimate power over all such coinage and issuance of money shall reside in the National Convention, which shall have the power to amend or rescind any act of the Finance Ministry with relation to monetary affairs by resolution carried on a majority vote.
[No Federal Reserve or similar outfit. The State and through the State its citizens controls the money supply, not any independent bank or body.]
Article XXII. - Neither the state nor any local government or authority shall levy any tax or impost upon individual income or on real property in the form of land, family housing, or homestead, nor upon any family owned farm. Income taxes may be leveled upon corporations or organizations of any commercial, social, or religious character deemed necessary. Property taxes may be leveled upon any land, buildings, structures, manufactories, or facilities used for commercial purposes, corporate agribusiness, or for religious purposes.
Article XXIII. - The power to declare a state of war between the Northwest American Republic and any foreign power or powers is reserved to the National Convention in full session.
Article XXIV. - The State President in his capacity as commander in chief of the armed forces shall have the power to initiate and implement any and all military activity he deems necessary for the immediate defense of the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic, and for the defense of the lives and property of its residents and citizens, without the requirement of recourse to the National Convention, with the following exceptions:
1) Any declaration of martial law within the boundaries of the Republic must be submitted to the National Convention by the State President within fourteen (14) days, and either rescinded or confirmed by majority vote and renewed for such time as the Convention shall think fit.
2) The State President may not order military action of any kind outside the borders of the Republic or in any foreign country, except by a special executive order in cases of the strongest and most overriding necessity and national urgency, and then for only for a period not to exceed seven (7) days.
3) Such special executive orders shall be renewable for a second period of seven (7) days should the State President deem it necessary.
4) On the fifteenth day such special executive order must be confirmed by majority vote of the National Convention in full session, and any extension granted on such orders may not exceed a single thirty (30) day period, at which time there shall be a full session debate in which the State President shall either report to the Convention the successful conclusion of such military operations outside the Republic's borders, or else he shall ask the assembly in full session for a formal declaration of war.
[No Vietnams or Iraqs.]
Article XXV. - All treaties between the Northwest American Republic and any foreign power shall be confirmed by majority vote of the National Convention in full public session, and shall have the force of law. Such treaties may be revoked or abrogated only by the National Convention in full session.
Section Three - Judiciary and Judicial Procedure
Article I. - Every county of the Republic shall maintain a court to try criminal cases, each with its own magistrate or judge who may if necessary be assisted by subordinate magistrates or judges appointed by law and the rules of judicial procedure. Civil law as known under the United States is abolished.
Article II. - The purpose of the courts and judiciary shall be solely to serve as bodies for the determination of FACT in criminal cases or non-criminal matters such as property ownership, inheritance, etc. The courts and judiciary shall have no governmental or policy-making role whatsoever within the State; these powers are reserved to the legislative and executive branches.
[No Nine Old Swine on some Supreme Court appointing presidents or making and un-making laws at their whim. Law-making resides in the people, not some tyrant in a black robe.]
Article III. - All magistrates shall be appointed by a special Judicial Committee of the National Convention, on nomination of any deputy or by the State President. The said Judicial Committee shall draw up and enforce rules of procedure for all courts and magistrates.
Article IV. - In no courtroom or tribunal, civilian or military, shall any magistrate, judge, presiding officer, or jury be seated at any elevation higher than or above any defendant or other person in said courtroom or chamber.
[Equality before the law, literally.]
Article V. - All judicial appointments shall be subject to confirmation by the State President in his capacity as Chief Magistrate.
Article VI. - No citizen or resident of the Republic shall be charged, arrested, brought to trial, fined or amerced, or subjected to loss of life, property or citizenship or otherwise punished, except upon indictment and return of a true bill by a grand jury comprised of citizens of the county wherein an alleged offense was committed, and except upon subsequent conviction by a jury of citizens.
1) Bills of indictment before the grand jury may be presented for consideration by the State Prosecutor for the county, by any citizen, or by any citizen acting for any resident of the Republic, so long as such citizen receives no pay or emolument for such action.
2) No citizen or resident of the Republic may be placed under lawful arrest except on foot of a warrant issued and signed by a magistrate, or except by officers or agents of the Civil Guard or Bureau of State Security acting in their official capacity, in order to prevent immediate disorder or criminal behavior. All persons arrested in ordinary criminal matters not subject to the jurisdiction of the Bureau of State Security shall be brought before a magistrate within forty-eight (48) hours of arrest for a habeas corpus determination, and shall either be discharged, or allowed release on bail. Arrested persons shall be held in custody for presentment to the grand jury only if said person is believed to be a flight risk, to present a danger to the community, or to be in danger from the community.
3) No judge or magistrate shall impose any bond for appearance or good behavior which is demonstrably outside the available resources of any defendant or accused person.
4) No judge or magistrate may order any arrest or detention in the absence of a formal criminal charge based upon a true bill or indictment by a grand jury, except on conclusion of a habeas corpus hearing and pending presentment to a grand jury within the next thirty (30) days.
5) No officer or other rank serving in the military shall exercise powers of lawful arrest or detention, except during a state of martial law proclaimed by the State President in his capacity as commander in chief, or except on the premises or property of any military base or installation.
Article VII. - The Bureau of State Security shall be governed in its operations and conduct by a special protocol to be determined by the State President and a standing Security Committee of the National Convention. Said protocol may, at the discretion of the State President and the said committee, exempt officers and agents of the Bureau of State Security, acting in good faith and on foot of national necessity and the national interest, from compliance with any and all laws or constitutional safeguards, until such time shall come when the existence and the independence of the Northwest American Republic shall be deemed to be no longer at risk.
[Look, this is a weak point and I know it, but we need to bear in mind the reality of the situation the Republic will be faced with during the first years of its existence. We will be often in need of a blunt instrument. Law and constitutions are great things, but national and racial survival have to be given precedence. I don't see any way out of this provision, or something like it.]
Article VIII. - No resident, citizen, or other person charged with a criminal offense before the courts of the Republic shall be denied the right to counsel and advocate of his choice, provided such counsel or advocate shall accept no fee, reward, emolument in money or kind, property or thing of value, officially or unofficially, for the performance of such function, and shall affirm such on oath before the commencement of trial or other proceeding.
Article IX. - In order to instill and maintain the highest standards of personal courtesy, deliberation, maturity, integrity and courage in the manhood of the Republic, the State President in his capacity as chief magistrate shall establish and supervise a National Honor Court. The said body shall in turn create and enforce all necessary regulations, procedures, and protocols for the resolution of personal differences between individual male residents and citizens of the Republic, up to and including private combat by mutual consent, in accordance with the ancient and historic traditions and practices of the European family of nations.
1) No act or result of personal combat by mutual consent of both parties, having received prior sanction by the National Honor Court, shall be deemed criminal or liable to legal proceeding or interdiction.
2) Serving members of the military and Civil Guard may be regulated or prohibited from issuing or accepting a challenge, dueling, or participating in a legal duel in any other capacity by the appropriate regulations of their service or by order from a superior officer.
3) All statements, actions, or proceedings by deputies of the National Convention in connection with their official duties shall be deemed subject to full parliamentary immunity and shall not be subject to challenge or the jurisdiction of the National Honor Court.
4) No serving member of the military, the Civil Guard, the Bureau of State Security, or any person acting in any governmental capacity whatsoever may be subject to a challenge on foot of their performance of any lawful or legally mandated exercise of their official duties.
[This is an anti-asshole provision. A large part of our problem today is that there are too many assholes with petty power messing with people's lives, too many ways for jerks to walk all over other people and get away with it, and ordinary people have no recourse except to spend their life's savings hiring a lawyer and filing a stupid lawsuit which will accomplish nothing except feeding lawyers until everyone is drained dry. We want White males to become White MEN again, and men don't hire lawyers. They meet with pistols at dawn, and in order to avoid such encounters they moderate and mature their conduct and they learn to treat other people with courtesy and respect. We want to create a nation of gentlemen, in the old sense.]
